issue after logging into Shadow (black screen)

after i start up my shadow, i just get a black screen, i see the quick menu icon at the top but no mouse cursor. i can hit windows+alt+o to pull up quick menu then turn shadow off. no idea what to do.

im having the same issue and was told to click tab and alt while shadow loads but it does nothing to fix the issue 

 

Yeah I’m having that exact same thing happening, like tf?

same issue… not 100% sure what’s going on… I can press the windows key, and the start menu pops up…then freeze the mouse cursor. I’m guessing this is driver related.

Thats the thing, its been working for who knows how long and all of the sudden it poops out, its weird..

Just fixed the issue… I think, not sure if it’s a permanent fix…

1st I downloaded the beta, that did nothing…

next I tried connectiing with my phone and booting off the connected display… nothing…

lastly I tried connecting with my phone 1st… then connecting my pc as a 2nd screen. And it sprang back to life. Odd but working now.

4 days still black screen and no real answer to whats going on or how they can fix it

Just fixed the issue… I think, not sure if it’s a permanent fix…

You were defently onto something with this idea, it worked because of the stupid remote screen

Yeah guys it’s a remote screen issue, I connected my comptuer to the tv and did the remote screen.

I switched it back to my base computer after turning off the split screen and it worked

 

So yeah, its a stupid remote screen problem -_-

The remote 2nd screen trick works for me, but I have to do it every time I launch my Shadow. I provided logs and some answers to support’s questions regarding the issue. Hopefully the find the cause and resolve it quickly.

 

For those that the remote 2nd screen trick isn’t working, make sure you’re doing it correctly. You start Shadow on the machine you wish to use… get the black screen… and leave it running. Grab a second device and start the Shadow app and choose to use it as a remote 2nd screen. this should immediately fix the black screen on the device you plan to use Shadow on and you can shutdown the app on the 2nd device.

Hey! Here are some community fixes for the black screen issue: Note they are not guaranteed to work but others have had success with the methods listed:

 

Black Screen Three things to try (if no luck, ticket to support)
1. Try Beta
2. Launch Shadow in Display Safe Mode (via Launcher help panel) then try creating a custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel to a lower resolution than the current setting Install Beta > go to Settings > enable the Dual Display feature > open the Nvidia Control Panel > check Blade Shadow & uncheck Digital Display. If Restart Shadow > Check "Always match Shadow Resolution with Local Display" (Will need to repeat each time)
3. Start shadow on your phone, then start Shadow on PC Pc will say your already streaming from another device and give you the option to extend. Click that. Then exit Shadow on your phone. Once you see the screen on your pc, set your resolution settings then shut it down. Log back in with the regular client and all should be good

As of today I was able to log in to my Shadow without the black screen issue! Hopefully that means they found the error and corrected it. Has anyone else who had the black screen issue see it clear up as I have?

its been that way for 2 weeks now not sure when it will be fixed as no one is replying to any messages

I was able to log once without the black screen but when i logged out and tried to log the next day it was a black screen again

Well I’ve tried on two different devices today with no black screen issue. I’ll see if that changes in the next few days and report if the black screen issue returns for me.

And the black screen is back… yesterday must have been a fluke :(
