Question

Logitech Master 2 MX extra buttons unresposive

I’m on macOS Ventura 13.3.1 and I can’t get my extra button 3 and 4 to work (which by default act as previous and next in browsers). On macOS I have Logitech Options installed. The big plateau button still triggers back to macOS to show all Windows. Strangely enough the horizontal scroll wheel does work.

Even removing assignment in Logitech Options for macOS doesn’t allow the buttons to respond in Windows.

In Windows I also tried Mouse Manager. It shows Button 4 and 5 but it doesn’t do anything when assigned.

I think in some way Logitech Options overrules the behaviour, but I can’t figure out a way to let the buttons pass through correctly into the Shadow PC environment.

Any ideas?

Why can’t I correct the title of the post? I made a typo but can’t edit it anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️

The Windows OS on your Shadow computer, is not going to “see” these special mouse features...unless you were to use USB device forwarding to make the Shadow computer think the mouse is connected directly to it. This is not practical unless you have another mouse connected to your Mac, because the forwarded one will no longer be available to use locally (when forwarded).

Thanks for your detailed response. That makes sense. It’s not a big deal tho. The same for the PlayStation 4 controller I use via Bluetooth. All buttons work, but the touchpad/press also don’t respond.

Same problem here with the Master 3S MX.

I have a cheap HP mouse connect to the USB port, to try the suggestion above, but it doesn't show on the forwarded USB devices.
