Question

macOS Catalina Notifications

  • Application type (Mac)
  • Shadow Client Version (Official or Beta, both display the same behavior)

  • Intel Core i5-1038NG7

  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (Ice Lake 64 EU)
  • Datacenter location (TX)

  • Speed Test to TX datacenter averages 600Mb down, 800Mb up, 23 latency, no jitter.

  • When using Shadow full screen with either the official or the beta app on Catalina, I’m missing all of my notifications (email, messages, etc.) unless I open the Shadow overlay.  Is this by design or is there a setting that I can change to allow my notifications to come through?

Other:

  • Date when problem appeared.  (Problem has always been present.)

  • Did you take any action(s) which could have created this problem? If so, what?  (NO)

  • Do you recall any action(s) you took after it happened? (I tried swapping to the beta application to see if it helped, but it didn’t.

  • Do you use a VPN and/or antivirus? (No)

  • Please provide a screenshot of your shadow stats (Alt+Win+O). Also make sure it captures a timeframe when the issue has happened. (N/A)

I’m guessing that this is by design...when you’re playing a game full screen, what could possibly be more important than your game? :grinning:

I think what you’re wanting is the equivalent of “borderless windowed full screen” so that your notifications and such would still appear, and there doesn’t appear to be an option for that.

You might need to engage Blade support in order to probe further, or at least let your preferences be known.

I also asked this question on the Discord; will report back if there is any feedback there.
