Optimal settings for Apple TV?

Hey all,

New to the forums here, and I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I am experiencing some major video stutter every 15-20 seconds for a full 3-5 seconds at a time. I’m wondering what might be optimal settings to try if others have consistent success playing on their Apple TVs.

Some things about my setup;

Latest gen Apple TV with latest OS and Shadow App

5ghz network connection across the room from the router at about 15 feet away. (200mbps)

Router has priority bandwidth for this device with no other devices consuming any meaningful bandwidth during testing. Firmware on router is also up to date (Alien Amplifi)

Does NOT matter what I’m doing. Could simply be on the desktop staring at it.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

I’d recommend testing the Apple TV with an Ethernet connection - it’s important to rule out the WiFi as being part of the problem, vs. assuming it’s good.

Turns out, connecting it over Ethernet solved in. Amazing that I wasn’t close enough and over 5ghz to get that kind of quality stream...
