good morning, for a week looking at the specifications inside the shadow pc, the video card has changed to quadro p5000, before opening a complaint with shadow, I would like to know if it concerns the use with VR are there differences with GTX 1080? in the future I have to buy Quest 2, and I don't want to spend $500 unnecessarily, if for VR there is no difference, then I leave it at that, thanks

They say they give you a 1080 or similar. I bought shadow more than 2 years ago and I got a pi quadro 5000 too, which so far worked fine. You probably got a leftover of someone who stopped his subscription so they reassigned it to you.

For what concerns Quest 2, I also bought a quest 2 1.5 years ago and I’m regularly playing VR stuff on shadow with Virtual Desktop, so you’re set off and surely can play without problems with pi quadro 5000. I spent like 150 hours on VR till now and had no problems on shadow side (but had problems with that little buggy mess that Virtual Desktop is).

Don’t count too much on Shadow VR app on sidequest, it’s buggy, laggy and poorly maintained.

Last but not least, you sure you want a quest 2? Quest 3 is coming out soon.

thank you so much, that's fine, perfect.. can I ask you something else? you said you use virtual desktop with quest 2, i would like to know if with virtual desktop you can play no-steam-based games,I saw that on the virtual desktop there is a "games tab", the games that are installed on steam appear in the "games tab", but for no-steam games instead? Thank you

We utilize the Quadro P5000, as it is designed for data center use and offers an equivalent amount of computing power compared to the GTX 1080.

For your reference, Nvidia does not allow consumer cards such as the GTX 1080, RTX 3080, etc. to be used in data centers which is why we utilize a Quadro card.
