Regular shadow boost with extra storage space bought. Everything runs fine except this game I’m downloading on Steam is really intermittent and cuts out frequently.

View originalI understand the migration of data, but think about a discount.
Anghellous I am having the same problem as well. I am on the Dallas server if that means anything
I’m having the Same exact problem and I’m on the Dallas server
So here’s the update from tech support for the ticket I submitted.
Hello Jeremy,
Thank you for reaching out to the Shadow Support Team!
I reached out to our Devs to further look into this issue. They believe the degraded performance may be due to maintenance on the US Data Centers. This degraded performance is currently affecting the additional storage.
Unfortunately, all they can suggest is to be patient while they work on a fix.
Alternatively, the performance of your additional storage will fluctuate based on traffic/maintenance. So you can try at a later time or during non-peak hours for more normal speeds to see if that helps alleviate the degraded performance you are experiencing.
We do apologize for the inconvenience but thank you for your patience!
So what’s crazy is that I just downloaded a game from Epic and it went superfast. Not sure what that means
I have the exact same problems. Been trying to download a game off of Steam, it's around around 80GB roughly and it's been taking days and it still hasn't finished.
So i have found somthing ive tryed intalling GTA to my D drive and it was very slow liek 12 Kb/s when i changed it to my c drive it went up to 50 to 60 MB/s and sometime to 100 so this can help for now
Hey guys
(your) data is currently being migrated to another file system which causes slow writing and maybe slow reading speeds since massive amounts of data are transferred. This will take a while since obviously not everyone can be transferred at the same time. It is expected to be done by June 30, but you never know.. maybe shorter, maybe longer. Steam downloads need writing speed which is currently not really available for the Storage Systems with high traffic. For questions about refunds etc. you can hit up support and they will happily answer your questions.. at least the ones that they are able to answer.
This has been a problem for months. Why is the data issue not resolved? Why am I paying more money for this? I can’t download stuff to the extra storage space that I can’t even remove from my subscription.
Shadow, you are going through a big change right now and losing customers due to the price hike. You should be reaching out to customers who have this problem and trying to help them versus just saying “Well, its a problem, guess you should just wait and see what happens.”
Really? I’m a paying customer and this is the answer I get? Talking about customer service…
And why don’t you react on a one-time discount question in this topic in a professional way? This should not been asked by customers, but should have be part of the data migration plans and the reorganization.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love the idea and the concept.. but don’t do this, you killing your image of the company/product in one message on the company forum! Including not having a clear outcome when this issue is solved.
Experiencing the same issue. Installing to C:\ allows the game to install and run swiftly, but negates the reason most people would pay for additional storage. Previous posts seem to suggest that the issue is in process of being resolved for 30+ days now. What can a paying customer do in the meantime?
The download speed problem still continues, only for D-drive.
The same game (18GB) that barely downloaded for hours to D-drive was downloaded in a few minutes on the C-drive.
Same for me.. C drive is fast… D drive crawls… but only on steam… Epic games and Microsoft Game Pass games install just fine on D.
I had to do the change the disk for the Microsoft game pass workaround, but when I did that, steam was still working fine on the D drive… it seems like this only really happened when they moved everything.
Now I have noticed that the HD usage is pegged for the D drive although it’s not by steam, it’s something that one of the shadow processes is doing that is making the system react weird… so the D drive is pegged at 100%. Of course you can’t kill the shadow process b/c it will kill the connection.
So it does seem like something that is a programming issue… it doesn’t make sense that things work just fine for epic, and game pass installing on D drive but steam doesn’t work well at all.
So what’s crazy is that I just downloaded a game from Epic and it went superfast. Not sure what that means
Was it into the c or d drive?
Thank you toothless. Yeah that makes sense cause it was on my D drive also. Has anyone tried moving a game from the C to the D? Just curious.
I’m having the same issue at AMS datacenter, I and support thought it had to do with the issue’s there. I will let support know that this is also the case in other datacenters.
This even gives me hope that it’s a version/patch/configuration software problem instead of a hardware one.
Since months they tell us that there is an ongoing migration and things will be fixed soon. Slowly I get the feeling that they just dont have the resources to keep up the product (hardware and personal). I lost all the trust in that company and only use it because there is no real alternative. Hopefully someone comes up and shows shadow how to do it properly.
I have been having the same problem for months, and typically with the D: drive. I got a sincere response from Shadow, which was timely and somewhat helpful. They recommended that I use the C: drive, which worked for about a week. I had an update come up for the same game I have been having trouble with (SCUM, through Steam), and now I am getting the same issues with my C: drive.
This is frustrating because as of right now, this is the primary reason that I have this service. However, they have been fairly quick to respond to me (<8 hours), and I am hoping that this issue is escalated. I will try and update here if they resolve the C: drive issue. Is this only happening to people paying for additional storage?

I meant July :D sawy
Ok I am glad to see that I am not the only one that this is happening to. The last couple of months all my downloads are slow. Updates just take forever no matter the size of the update. I have noticed some performance issues with some of my games since most of the big ones are installed on the extra storage I pay for smh.
So what’s crazy is that I just downloaded a game from Epic and it went superfast. Not sure what that means
I only have issues with the slow downloads from Steam and Blizzard. My Epic games update at the normal speeds too.
