Shadow resets display size to 1920x1080


I have a 2560x1440 monitor and until the last update, shadow worked great with my monitor and it had the same resolution as my desktop, but after the update it was stuck at 1920x1080 and 60hz ( my monitor supports 144hz ). I tried everything, nvidia control panel didn’t work because i couldn’t create a custom resolution ( The customize button was greyed out but i already have DSR disabled so the common fix doesn’t work ). Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello @Prism!
Please try entering your Shadow launcher, press the Help menu button (the “?” in the upper right corner), select “Display Safe mode”, start Shadow, close Shadow and start it normally again. Feel free to let me know if that helped.

Hello @Phobos, unfortunately the display safe mode did nothing, a while back i even tried to uninstall and install it again but no luck. Hope to find a fix soon because it’s annoying

I’m having the same problem which started today after an update.  My display resolution is 2560x1600 but Shadow is fixed at 1920x1080 no mater what I do. Custom resolution in the Nvidia Manager is grayed out. I’ve reached out to Tech Support- awaiting a reply. I suspect there may be more users with the same issue...

I feel a bit better knowing im not the only one with the problem, hoping it’s something from the update and not from my monitor or resolution

I’d encourage everyone with the issue to raise a ticket so Shadow are aware or can roll back the update

I’ve not any reply to my ticket from yesterday. Anyone know typical support response times? Anyone know an interim fix for the resolution issue?

Big issues lately. Try plugging into your TV then back into your monitor. There's an overlay issue. There's a BIG issue here and shadow are keeping quiet.

My TV is a 1080p one, tried anyway, no difference- ongoing issue.

Anyone any idea for a hot fix? Seems strange Shadow can’t just roll back the update.

I’m unable to add custom resolution in Nvidia Manager or even via a regedit.

Yeah it's dire mate. I've tried everything they've asked even had another email saying wait 2 more hours for factory reset.....it's now been  7 🤦 and no change.

Yeah I'm at a loss 🤷 this is getting on for a week now. I think they are missing the point that it does not recognise my monitor AT ALL in Nvidia control panel  even though it's working just fine. They keep thinking it's just a resolution issue between phone app and pc app. Keep telling me to start one app on one device then set monitor to other  blah blah. Tell them nothing works and get same bs telling me to start safe mode blah blah blah.

Heya, yeah its still ongoing and honestly it's annoying because if i pay 30$ monthly for a pc service i atleast expect to get a better resolution than 1080p..

The lack of response suggests that, but when the solution is potentially simple- roll back the so called update then why not just do that? An explanation (lacking so far) would be helpful.

Different ball game if I had a pc sat in front of me , why should we be trouble shooting everything when we don't have physical access to it🤷 surely that's not our job.
