Shadow won't start streaming on desktop PC

When I try to start Shadow on my PC, the desktop app is stuck on the Shadow is starting screen with the progress bar. When I click on start, it shows me this We're almost there! screen with a screenshot of a boot menu.

I've tried shutting down Shadow, turning it to 5 MB and Prefer Reliability in the settings and starting it again, but it's still stuck on this issue. This started yesterday. It might be because I tried to update windows on my Shadow yesterday but the update didn't finish before shadow's 30 min window shut it off.

What you should do is shut it down, wait 30 minutes at least, then re-start your shadow. That should do the trick. If that really does not do it, contact the support team ;)

Hi ladyloriana.

Did you get this resolved as I have exactly the same issue?

Thanks.

Did you try to Shutdown wait 30 minutes and start again too? If that doesnt help contact support.

I did do that and did contact Support, but had wondered if there was anything I could do myself as I was waiting for them to reply. In the end, some 18 hours after the update had bricked Shadow, the problem seemed to resolve and the Windows 10 feature update uninstalled itself, allowing me back in again. Communicating with Support later on revealed that this is a known issue and has been escalated to the devs for a fix.

For now - DO NOT install the Windows 10 feature update version 2004!!!

Well I’m reading this post to late …

Damned update 2004
