I have 4 days to return my Shield TV and was thinking of upgrading to the Pro for the best couch Shadow experience. One gig of ram and the USB ports are the difference I am aware. Id like the best experience using Shadow on my OLED LG (yes I am lucky). Can anyone advise from experience?

Im running shadow boost on shield tv 2017.
I run the app. Android Shadow on my tv @1920x1080 at 100hz.
Works nice.

I added a 3.0 usb hub to one of the ports for my keyboard and mouse + wheel.
I added a paid Virtual Here android app for my Thrustmaster wheel. (only way to get this working).

The shield controller works fine but im a keyboard + mouse player etc etc.

So Shield TV is a nice piece of equipment to run shadow on in my experience so far.
The android app still needs some work and not all windows options are available but it runs stable at 70 mb on my home network.

Hope this helped,

Cheers,

Paco

Hi there.

I recommend for the best expierence the shadow ghost.
It's a thin light client build for shadow.

On a Nvidia Shield you can't change the resolution and a lot of other things..
So it has some disadvantages over the shadow ghost.

I forgot about that. I wonder when it might be available again thank you.

Cancelled the Pro. Issues with CC caused a fraud alert. It wasnt meant to be.

Since 4 months you can change the resolution on Nvidia Shield app. You probably have to click OK on your TV remote (I know...I found out by accident) and all kinds of possibilities are available.

For the rest. Mic is still not working great on android. But Im working on a fix via Virtual Here,

Can you provide more information? Whenever a game changes my resolution I end up in a loop with shadow constantly trying to change it. Also if I try to change it from the quick settings it fails.

I had some results in the nvidia settings where you get to set some scaling settings; try the setting  ‘decided by the gpu’ and its other scaling options.

I had the same results setting the gpu to decide scaling, same results setting scaling to 100%. I can get around the issue if I know what resolution the app is set to. The app knows the resolution has changed but is unable to automatically switch.

I am discussing the revert of new resolutions within Shadow Tech Android TV with Phobos at the moment. I have the same problem when changing resolution above 1080P.

Locking some NVIDIA card changes down is helpfull sometimes. This is a good post.
