Steam disk space attribution very slow

Hi,

When I want to install games from steam, the initial phase of disk space allocation is like very very very long. I launched the download of a 60Gb game like 20 min ago, and only 1/3 of disk space allocation is done.

It’s like this since the first time I used Shadow. Not something new on my side.

Anybody has any idea how to solve this?

Thank you.

Unfortunately steam’s disk allocation isn't great when first installing things on your shadow. As the drive is allocated, things should speed up. Another option is to try clearing your steam download cache and make sure the steam download server is set correctly for the location of your datacenter.

Thank you but the problem is still persistent. I’ve installed quite a lot of games and each time it’s the same.

I cleaned the cache, tried different servers, it’as a;ways the same. It took 45 mins to allocate disk space.

I believe that is just how steam is with Shadow, there is unfortunately no definitive “fix” for it.
