Hi there,

Today I started Shadow as usual on my Macbook to play Arkham knight on Steam but suddenly any game that I try to start from Steam get this error

I tried restarting the stream and shadow, tried verifying the integrity of game files in steam, nothing worked. I looked at the local files and it doesn’t seem to identify the .exe’s. I don’t know if it’s a Steam issue since I could not find anything about it online.

Same here! Happening on all games. Tried deleting cash and rebooting several times. Trying to validating game files is not moving past 1%.

The same problem! Yesterday it was all just fine and today no game is willing to start :c

I also tried, clearing downloads cache and repairing the library folder, nothing worked.

Same issue here, reinstalling the game fixes the issue for me (for now).

Opening the local .exe files of Steam resulted in the following error. Seems like our Shadows received some kind of update which is not compatible with the games we play

Same issue here, reinstalling the game fixes the issue for me (for now).

Thank you, it helped me too

This doesn't erase progress and save files?

Same issue here, steam will try to verify the files and block either at 0% or during…

My game is 75Go, i’d like not to re-dl it completely. Can someone from support help us ?

Same - no response from support yet.

Re-downloading everything which is taking hours. 2nd issue like this in 2 weeks. Think I'm done.

It shouldnt erase any progress, I reinstalled 3 different games and kept my progress.

Same problem here, can’t start Hogwards Lagacy anymore :/

A very bizarre issue — reinstalling Grim Dawn in GOG Galaxy did not even fix the issue. In Steam they just crash without any feedback now. However, games that are not installed via a service, like LISA the Pointless do run.

The Support Team can gather logs to forward to our Dev Team for further investigation. At the moment, our Dev Team is looking into this issue and the Support Team can update you.

As an added note: when reinstalling with GOG Galaxy it’s important to make sure the game’s directory is cleared up before installing again, otherwise it can mess it up for some reason. That said, reinstallation fixed the issue.

Hi, I’m having the same problem. I don’t want to redownload all of my games. All Steam games have the same issue.

Shadow team can you fix this please?

I have the same problem with civilization 6, occured three days ago, before everything was working fine.
Reinstalling the game didn’t fix anything so I contacted shadow customer support.
They basically provided me the steam faq for troubleshooting and a link to an youtube video which showed the same advice as in the steam faq….

That’s pretty much it. I gave them the link to this thread pointing out that others have the exact same problem with other games but support ignored that part of my mail.

Tldr: Games not working, I tried everything I could, they can’t/won’t provide further adivce and at the end of the month I have been a shadow customer...

Same happened to me and to my disdain, the only fix I discovered is to reinstall the game (tried to rebuild/fix game files and library folder). It practically killed all my installed games. And some didn’t had cloud save so I had to manually backup saves.

You can’t fix in any other way as steam only provides you game files checkup and library checkup to solve such issues.

No, if game supports cloud save (most steam games does) then steam uploads your savegames on their servers automatically and redownloads when reinstalling so you can keep game saves safe.

Same problem. Games that were working fine the night before yesterday just stopped working (invalid platform error). This includes all Steam installs (Stacklands, KSP, KSP2). Ubisoft (AC Black Flag) and Riot (League of Legends) also not able to start. Re-Installs of games or entire clients don’t solve the issue, games still won’t start, but now without any error message. Ticket created, Support silence (or trying to chalk it up to individual problems, see above comment by “Karl 1874”) not helping confidence. I am expecting much more than this for my money.

Update: Having tried everything else and still no word from support, I reset my Shadow (Manage my Subscription -> Reset my Shadow PC) as a last resort. After spending the better part of an hour setting all my basics back up, the problem seems to be fixed for now. Sharing this for anyone still trying to get this problem resolved.

Same issue on all my steam games.

Many thanks to the person who suggested to reinstall.

Would be nice to receive a word from Shadow on this and a fix
