VR crashing after 25/30 mins

The exact topic got this is closed yet has no answer other than how to set it up.  I got past that and was using it 

 

however it now crashes the game after 30min like I had not being keeping it active despite the fact I moved the mouse or talked the phone screen. Indeed it’s still running on the app when I look yet br session is dead with various messages about hardware and gpu not being available. 
 

I was already fed up having to keep it awake every 25 min but now even that doesn’t let me stay on longer than 30 min at a time.

I’m having the same problems. I start the client on my Arch Linux box, using the AppImage, then go to my Quest, start virtual desktop and for example inside Half Life:Alyx, I hear the new hardware chime, and i get disconnected. This happens to me on the normal and the beta client.

 

I’ve heard they registered Virtual Desktop as an input, so it won’t power off, but it seems to fail.

By the way, I also noticed that my VD session didn’t crash, but SteamVR did. I also saw that SteamVR also seemed to think my Quest and my controllers were still connected.

Maybe it’s an issue with SteamVR and how it interacts though Shadow and the virtualized controllers by VD?

Hey Akscooby, just an FYI, VR isn’t officially supported on Shadow at this time but we are working on making VR feasible in the future :)
