Hi, I have an issue and would like to share it here to find a solution.. I started using shadow on my new notebook (Shadow Ultra) and for some reason i just Can’t make my Microphone work… I tried multiple solutions on YT and some that I found here and nothing is working out for me… I am trying to use my laptop’s (HP Pavilion laptop 14-ce3xxx with Windows 10 Home) own built in microphone (Microphone Array Realtek(R) Audio) which always have worked perfectly on my laptop, I have uploaded some screenshots showing it working on my laptop, showing my shadow settings, and showing it on my shadow pc not working… Screenshots I have tried updating both my local laptop and shadow’s mic drivers, tried pluging another external headset mic, and nothing seems to work, audio is working great, its just the mic problem, I hope someone has a solution for this issue :p
Hey guys, i3 2015, 4GB ram Asus 15’ laptop, Puppy Linux on 64GB USB + Internal Hard Drive. About three - four weeks ago I started getting the ‘Error code: R-0x7F’ when hitting ‘Start Now’. I figure a missing dependency, but the libs are there, just not being read right(?). Running the appimage from terminal with --no-sandbox and here’s the readout.root# /mnt/home/Shadow.AppImage --no-sandbox /tmp/.mount_ShadowHAsgtO/shadow: /lib/libdbus-1.so.3: no version information available (required by /tmp/.mount_ShadowHAsgtO/shadow) /initrd/mnt/tmpfs/tmp/.mount_ShadowHAsgtO/shadow: /lib/libdbus-1.so.3: no version information available (required by /initrd/mnt/tmpfs/tmp/.mount_ShadowHAsgtO/shadow) Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/fonts.conf", line 86: unknown element "blank" Checking for update Update for version 5.0.638 is not available (latest version: 5.0.638, downgrade is disallowed). This issue has been driving me nuts for weeks. I love Shadow as a service, but it has been next to impossible to get correct channel surround sound to work till now. The problem is that the native streaming that Shadow uses ONLY sends Stereo metadata to your Device/PC and there is no way of changing that. Even if you select 5.1 sound on your local PC, the surround speakers just replicate the front left and right speakers, even though it shows as a 5.1 input signal on your Receiver. One solution given was to use a 5.1 or 7.1USB DAC and USB Forward the device to the Shadow VM. This seemed to work if the DAC had analog outputs, however, it was very buggy/glitchy and repeatedly cut out when I tried it. As for Dolby Digital Live/DTS Connect DACS, I couldn't get them to work at all. The solution I have discovered is to set up Steam Remote Play just ONCE from your Shadow to your PC or Device (don't worry, you won't actually be using the Steam streaming service in its full form) and this sh
Every time I try to use virtual desktop with my Shadow PC on my Oculus Quest, I get to “connecting” for 5 minutes then it’ll say “Computer is unreachable”. I have tried the workaround thing everyone is talking about but that doesn’t work and I do not think it is my wifi but even if it is I cannot access my router settings please some one help me!!!
When I try to start Shadow on my PC, the desktop app is stuck on the Shadow is starting screen with the progress bar. When I click on start, it shows me this We're almost there! screen with a screenshot of a boot menu. I've tried shutting down Shadow, turning it to 5 MB and Prefer Reliability in the settings and starting it again, but it's still stuck on this issue. This started yesterday. It might be because I tried to update windows on my Shadow yesterday but the update didn't finish before shadow's 30 min window shut it off.
Hey there guys!I have a problem which I think is concerning Shadow. I am using a MacBook early 2016 Official Shadow Client 1.3 GHz Intel Core m7 dual-core CPU Datacenter is in Paris Connection speed is more than 300 Mbps Since I updated to Big Sur the following pop-up appears each time I start the system If I click on relaunch the pop-up just comes back after a few seconds, If I click on disable it goes away. I tried looking in the Privacy settings as described in the pop-up but I can’t find anything related to the issue Can you guys help me?
I’m streaming PCVR to my Quest using Virtual Desktop. I haven’t had any issues until Tuesday this week: after 25 minutes of VR, with no other input into the Shadow, I hear the Windows ‘Device Connected’ chime and my VR game crashes. I then see the USB/External drive icon in my taskbar with an NVIDIA graphics card listed as the external device. If I force the game and Steam VR to quit and get it restarted, 25 minutes later I hear the ‘Device Disconnect’ chime followed by the ‘Device Connect’ chime and again, whatever VR game I’m playing crashes. I mentioned this in the Virtual Desktop Discord and it does appear other people are experience the issue, and if they pause VR and interact with the streamer client, they don’t get the ‘Device Connected’ chime. I also tested leaving the streamer up NOT playing VR, and as long as I’m interacting with the desktop, I’m not getting the ‘Device Connected’.
Hi! I’m trying to run SteamVR on my Oculus Quest from a Shadow PC. It’s the only reason I subscribe to this service. I’ve installed the Oculus software on my Shadow PC, as well as Steam and SteamVR. When I connect my headset to my Macbook with a USB 2 cable, and forward the device to the Shadow host, the Oculus software detects it and I’m able to run SteamVR successfully -- but the performance is completely unacceptable. When I connect my headset using a USB 3 cable, or using the Oculus Link cable, the Oculus software fails to detect the headset and tells me that no headset is connected. So it appears that your software can successfully forward USB 2 devices, but can NOT forward USB 3 devices? I can switch between the two cables and see the headset go from detected → not detected → detected again. I’ve tried uninstalling the USB drivers from Shadow launcher, and reinstalling them. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Oculus software on my Shadow PC. I’ve tried rebooting b
I have been using the Virtual Desktop to play PC VR on my Oculus Quest 2. At first when I tried it, the video lagged a lot but the audio output was going to my headset just fine. So, I bought a new laptop to fit with recommendations for Shadow PC, found a much better spot for my internet connection, and use ethernet cable for my laptop. Now the video quality works great. However, for some reason, the audio will only output to my laptop - not my headset. Even though the settings with Steam VR says the audio output is to the headset, I can only hear it through my laptop, not my headset. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the audio from PC VR to my headset and not on the laptop?
R-0x4My shadow client keeps showing this error what can I do to fix it?R-0x4 is an error that appears when your shadow client is missing underling operating system components. This particialr error affects Linux and Windows Users. For Linux you will need to download and install vaapi portions. For Windows you will need to install Dot Net 3.5 Redistribute. Still having trouble? Try these steps to get your shadow client working: 1. Uninstall Shadow2. Go to the your %appdata% folder (Windows search '%appdata%') and delete all 'Shadow'-related folders 3. Delete the folder C://Users/username/.shadow4. Restart your computer5. Download and install Shadow again at https://account.shadow.tech/apps (choose Applications on the left)
Shadow is a live stream, unlike that of Netflix and Hulu which can buffer, and thus streaming greatly depends on the strength of your internet connection. This includes your download speed, upload speed, latency (ping), and jitter. Lag is the noticeable delay between your inputs and the reaction of the server, which can degrade your experience with Shadow. For example, you’re moving your mouse but there is a delay on the stream when the mouse moves. This occurs when your network connection is not optimal, as Shadow reads inputs from your PC and is transmitted to Shadow and then the action is streamed to you. Having minimal latency on your network will help alleviate any lag you may experience. As of now, you can set a Shadow stream bit rate to run between 5 Mb/s to 70 Mb/s which dictates the visual quality of the stream; just be sure you have the proper bandwidth and are aware of any data limitations you may have. Setting your bandwidth allocation higher than your max download speed c
It’s hard to describe it but I’ll try. When playing Fallout 4 with a few mods and F4SE on my Shadow the game ran too fast, like CPU cycles or something were faster than the Frame Rate. I try to navigate the menu, the cursor blinks through multiple options and it’s pretty much roulette if I’ll land on the option I wanted. Get to the SPECIAL allocation screen, all the vault boys are rushing through their animations faster than I can process. I hold W to walk from one side of the room to the other, my character’s arms are flailing as their running animation runs but it feels like their sprinting alongside everyone else. Even the loading screen had an issue where the vault tech logo went faster than normal. I’m reinstalling the game to see if that fixes it, I already tried deleting the mods but no luck. If the game works after a clean install, I’ll leave a list of the mods so anyone still curious how it broke can check it out, maybe someone else will have the same issue with the same m
Hi,I’m goint to buy the new M1 MacbookPro and I was wondering whether shadow is going to run on it? I guess there’s no native app for that, but is it running under Rosetta2? It’s kinda crucial knowing that I’ve already found a few apps not working with M1 nor Rosetta. Thanks,Daniel
I have been trying to connect to Shadow for the past 30-45minutes and I am stuck on Step 2. Starting Shadow. After roughly 1-2mins, it stops trying to start and states in grey/black “Shadow is off”. My internet is working great currently. No issues with downloads or streaming. Any help? Thanks in advance.
Hello, Been using shadow for months on my mac without any issues and love it. Tried several times without luck to run it on my amazon fire stick so, after reading several good reports, took the plunge and ordered the latest shield TV Pro. Great piece of kit! On the stream there is noticeable input lag and its making games unplayable. The TV is on game mode. In the shadow menus (pressing start and select together) there is no lag (so the connection with the shield TV is a-OK). I'm on 500mb up/down fibre. I've tried playing with all the settings, dropping the resolution and bitrate right down but it seems to make no difference. Any ideas? Cheers! Max
As per title, It appears the latest Rockstar update has broke RDR2 on Shadow. I have been able to play with no issues via the Rockstar launcher on Boost since its day 1 launch, however the game now quits to desktop when attempting to start either online or solo. I have been through all the suggestions on the various online forums to no avail.I am able to run the game if i install on one the kids home PC’s (Ryzen CPU’s, one with a RTX 2060 and the other with a GTX 1070). A quick check on /r/ShadowPC shows I'm not alone, not checked on the Discord as i’m not a fan at all of how its used. I’m now convinced its to do with the shadow hardware.Has ANY boost RDR2 gotten it to work since the last update and if so how?Has ANY Shadow staff been able to run it since last update on the BOOST configuration? again if so how and any chance you could advise the communities, be it here or /r/ShadowPC.
